Technology, sustainability, and identity: the industrial vision of Nicola Ambrosioni, CFO of GMP Group

In the context of GMP Group’s continuous development, Nicola Ambrosioni – Chief Financial Officer of the group – shares a journey marked by targeted investments, ongoing innovation, and respect for the environment. A concrete vision that combines automation and craftsmanship, local roots and international openness.

Industrial sustainability: investing to pollute less

“In recent years we’ve made major investments, especially with environmental impact in mind,” says Ambrosioni. Among the most significant projects is the installation of a photovoltaic system that now covers about 30% of the company’s energy needs, ensuring full self-sufficiency during daylight hours. A result that has brought concrete environmental and economic benefits.

This is accompanied by the revamping of the painting system, which now allows the recovery of fine powders. “Until a year ago, we were generating waste. Today we recover, consume less, and pollute less,” he explains. The next step? Recovering heat produced by the ovens to convert it into energy for cooling production processes. An ambitious engineering challenge already under study.

Industry 4.0 and artificial intelligence: data and craftsmanship

GMP is now a fully interconnected factory. New-generation machinery and advanced automation enable constant data collection, which is processed through artificial intelligence to optimize every phase of production. “Today, AI is fundamental: it helps us detect inefficiencies, optimize costs, and maintain product excellence.”

But innovation doesn’t mean giving up identity: “Our heart remains in craftsmanship. It’s what makes each of our products unique and recognizable. And it’s also why we can proudly say that Made in Italy is safe—today and tomorrow.

A European group, a culture to build

GMP is now part of an international group with diverse souls: Italian, German, and Dutch. A melting pot that works, but also requires cultural work. “The challenge is to convey a sense of belonging and our way of thinking. The same goes for our partners. Fortunately, we work with capable, open-minded people who share the common goal of growing the group.”

A virtuous combination of Italian creativity, German pragmatism, and Dutch commercial strength, ready to lead the group in the European automotive market with complementary skills and a shared vision.
